Bike Resort Peklák: family flow trails, a lift and race descents above Česká Třebová
Practical Information
Bike Resort Peklák offers more than 22 km of trails on the slopes of Javorník directly above Česká Třebová. Beginners can ride Růžovka, Kolonáda or the long Happyna circuit, while experienced riders will find Mechovka, Rodeo, Zmije, Northshore, Airline and the DH1 and Malinovka race tracks. An 800-metre bicycle tow helps with the climb, while Dechovka offers a pedal-powered alternative. Bike rental, refreshments, parking and a small campsite are available at the base.
Bike Resort Peklák lies almost on the edge of Česká Třebová, yet after a few turns between the trees it is easy to forget that the railway station, shops and municipal swimming pool are still close by. The resort spreads across the slopes and ridge of Javorník and combines two different styles of riding: forest singletracks and circuits climbed under your own power, and shorter downhill tracks served by a bicycle tow.
Official information lists more than 22 km of trails. Around 16 km run on both sides of Javorník ridge, with another 6 km of tracks directly connected to the 800-metre lift. The result is a surprisingly varied resort where one part of the group can ride the easy Růžovka while experienced riders test whether the name DH1 was intended as a subtle warning.
Why visit
Peklák’s greatest advantage is its wide range of difficulty. It is not only a demanding downhill bike park, although it does include race tracks, steep rock sections, jumps and wooden bridges. The system also offers simple circuits, climbing trails, smooth flow trails and training features for practising technique.
This makes Peklák a good choice for groups with different riding abilities. A beginner can start on the training features, Růžovka or Kolonáda. An intermediate rider can try Mechovka and Rodeo. An experienced biker can head for Korida, Malinovka, Zmije or DH1. Everyone can meet again at the lower lift station, the rental shop or the refreshment area.
The second advantage is accessibility. The resort is not hidden deep in the mountains but directly beside the town. Visitors can arrive by car, bicycle or public transport via Česká Třebová. The local information system directs visitors from the railway and bus stations towards the resort.
Easy and family-friendly trails
The main easy trail is Růžovka. It is 2.5 km long and leads from the upper lift station back to the base. It is smooth, playful and, according to the operator, enjoyable for beginners and advanced riders alike. This is the best place to start on a first visit or with a child who can already brake and corner safely.
Kolonáda is a 3.3 km circuit with a gentle gradient, suitable for almost everyone. It works well for warming up, family riding and a first introduction to the local terrain.
Happyna is 15.5 km long and connects the easier trails on both sides of the ridge into one longer circuit. This is no longer just a quick descent but a proper ride combining pedalling, forest trail and downhill sections. The technical difficulty is not extreme, but the length and changing gradients require some fitness.
Vyhlídka is 450 metres long and connects the left and right sides of the park. In the middle it crosses the ski slope, where there is a photo point, a rest area and a view. It is both a practical connector and a good place for a break, especially when it becomes clear that a family riding pace has six different definitions.
Blue and intermediate trails
Mechovka is 1.6 km long. It is a smooth trail without major roots, but it contains plenty of wooden bridges, rollers and berms. According to the operator, the obstacles can be bypassed, making it a logical next step after the easy trails. It still requires more confident bike handling and better speed control.
Rodeo is 1.3 km long and is described by the operator as the second blue level. It suits riders who can handle Mechovka safely and want something faster and more technical.
Slunečná is 800 metres long. It branches from Růžovka and descends on the opposite side of the ridge. An important detail is that it does not finish at the lift. Riders must return under their own power via Čipera or Bukovka. It is therefore worth knowing where the trail leads before turning onto it, otherwise a small unplanned fitness test awaits.
Technical and difficult trails
Zmije is an 800-metre trail running alongside the lift. It contains rocky sections and a significant gradient. It is intended for riders who already handle steep terrain safely and know how to use their brakes without gripping them in panic from start to finish.
Drtikol is 550 metres long and slightly less aggressive than DH1. Its upper section is reinforced, the middle is steeper and the lower section becomes somewhat easier. It is still not suitable for a first day on a mountain bike.
DH1 is only 400 metres long, but its short length should not be reassuring. It is a demanding race track with the steep Rock Kurve section, jumps, a bridge and technical forest riding. It then joins Korida.
Korida is one kilometre long and playful but demanding. It includes large jumps and the well-known feature called Mr. Shit. The name is expressive enough that no further marketing explanation is really necessary.
Malinovka is also a one-kilometre race track, alternating between fast and technical sections.
Airline is 500 metres long and runs directly down the ski slope over jump features before joining Malinovka. It is intended for experienced riders who can safely judge speed, take-off and landing.
Northshore is a short section, approximately 200 metres long, made up of suspended wooden bridges. Extreme care is needed in wet conditions. A wooden bridge can turn a confident rider into someone closely studying the structure of the forest floor in a single second.
Climbing trails and riding without the lift
You are not dependent only on the lift at Peklák. Dechovka is 3.6 km long and connects the lower and upper stations. The operator describes it as a pleasant warm-up, although the definition of “pleasant” may change slightly on the second climb.
Bukovka is a 1.6 km climbing trail from the U buku junction to the upper lift station. It also connects towards Růžovka and Čipera.
Čipera is 5.1 km long, circles the entire Javorník massif and combines descents with sections where riders need to start pedalling again. It suits those who want to combine trail riding with a longer outing.
Thanks to these climbing routes, the resort can also be used like a traditional trail centre. For a full day of repeated descents, however, the lift is considerably more comfortable.
Training features and bike school
There are three training zones near the upper lift station. Hip hop is used for practising jumps, Zahrádka simulates different trail elements and Pumpa teaches bike control over rollers.
They allow beginners to practise technique before they need it at higher speed on a real trail. More experienced riders can use them to warm up and refine their movement on the bike.
Several bike schools and instructors also operate at the resort. Lessons can be adapted to the rider’s experience, bicycle type and discipline, from cross-country and e-bikes to trail and enduro. For a complete beginner, a few hours with an instructor are often a better investment than several days of trial, error and the occasional hug with a tree.
Lift and opening hours
The bicycle tow is 800 metres long and serves approximately 6 km of downhill tracks. It is not a chairlift but a device adapted to transport riders and bikes. Follow the operator’s instructions carefully on the first ride.
In the 2026 season, from 1 May to 28 June, the lift operates from Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays, from 10:00 to 18:00.
From 29 June to 31 August, it operates daily from 10:00 to 18:00.
From 1 September to 11 October, it operates from Thursday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 17:00.
From 15 to 18 October and from 22 to 25 October, the lift operates from 10:00 to 16:00. The final published period is from 28 to 31 October, Wednesday to Saturday, also from 10:00 to 16:00.
Always check current information before travelling. Operation may be affected by rain, wind, maintenance, races or other events.
Lift prices in the 2026 season
A single ride costs CZK 60 for an adult and CZK 50 for children aged 6 to 18. A two-hour ticket costs CZK 360 for an adult and CZK 290 for a child. A four-hour ticket costs CZK 450 for an adult and CZK 360 for a child.
A full-day ticket costs CZK 580 for an adult and CZK 470 for a child. Two consecutive days cost CZK 900 and CZK 700, while three days cost CZK 1,350 and CZK 1,050.
A five-day ticket that can be used during the season costs CZK 2,290 for an adult and CZK 1,990 for a child. A non-transferable season pass costs CZK 5,900 for an adult and CZK 4,500 for a child.
Children under 6 ride free of charge. Card payment is available at the ticket office.
According to the resort’s current offer, holders of a full-day ticket can buy discounted entry to the nearby swimming pool for CZK 100. After several hours on the trails, the pool is a good way to discover muscles you did not previously know existed.
Bike and helmet rental
The rental shop offers full-suspension Merida and Rocky Mountain bikes and Kellys downhill bikes. Full-face cycling helmets are also available.
Reservations can be made online or in person on the day, subject to availability. Identification is required for an in-person rental. Riders under 18 need written consent from a legal guardian.
A four-hour bike rental costs CZK 950 and a full-day rental costs CZK 1,250. A full-face helmet costs CZK 140 for four hours or CZK 260 for a full day.
A well-maintained mountain bike is sufficient for the easy trails. A trail or enduro bike is more suitable for Mechovka, Rodeo and faster descents. DH1, Zmije, Korida and the jump lines require an appropriate bicycle, a full-face helmet and protection.
Parking, minikemp and facilities
The main facilities are located at the lower lift station at Pod Jelenicí 653. This is where visitors find parking, the ticket office, rental, refreshments and the main entrance to the resort.
Overnight stays are handled through the paid minikemp. Two terraces above the car park are intended for tents and recreational vehicles. Electrical hookups are also available in a designated asphalt section of the car park.
Drinking water, toilets and showers are available. Sanitary facilities operate continuously from 1 May to 31 October, while showers are paid.
The minikemp has a separate price list according to the type of tent or vehicle. Electricity is charged according to consumption, and water for the bike-wash station and dispensing point is also paid.
The indoor swimming pool, shops and the centre of Česká Třebová are nearby. Peklák therefore works both as a day-trip bike park and as a base for a weekend.
Who Peklák suits
Peklák suits families with more experienced children, beginners, hobby riders, enduro riders and downhill specialists. Choosing the correct trail is essential. Růžovka and Kolonáda are a completely different discipline from DH1 or Korida.
The resort is also useful for mixed groups. Some riders can use the easy trails and longer circuits while experienced riders repeat lift-served descents. Thanks to the rental shop, the resort is also practical for visitors without their own full-suspension bike.
It is less suitable for complete cycling beginners who cannot yet brake and corner independently. They should start with the bike school, training features or easier forest trails.
What to watch out for
Do not underestimate the difficulty ratings. Some features on Mechovka can be bypassed, but the difficult descents contain steep sections, rocks, jumps and wooden structures.
Ride the first run slowly. Before attempting an unfamiliar jump, stop in a safe place and inspect both the take-off and landing.
After rain, roots, rocks and Northshore become significantly more slippery. Respect trail closures and current trail status.
Remember that Slunečná does not return to the lift, and longer circuits require pedalling under your own power.
Summary
Bike Resort Peklák is a surprisingly complete riding area directly above Česká Třebová. It offers family flow trails, longer circuits, climbing trails, technical enduro, race downhill, training zones, a lift, rental, refreshments and a small campsite.
Its greatest advantage is progression. Riders can move from the easy Růžovka through Mechovka and Rodeo to trails where a full-face helmet, protection and healthy respect become essential.
Choose a trail according to your ability rather than according to how convincingly your friend says “it’s fine”, and Peklák can deliver a very good bike day.
