Lake Kristýna near Hrádek nad Nisou: swimming, camping and beaches by the Three-Country Point

Lake Kristýna near Hrádek nad Nisou is a flooded former brown-coal mine turned into a lively recreation area with sandy and grassy beaches, a campsite, cabins, restaurants, sports facilities and cycling services close to the Czech-German-Polish border.

Lake Kristýna lies on the edge of Hrádek nad Nisou near the Three-Country Point of Czechia, Germany and Poland. It is a flooded former brown-coal mine, now used as a recreation area with beaches, a campsite, cabins, restaurants and sports facilities. The bathing water is officially monitored by the Liberec regional hygiene authority, which listed it as suitable for swimming on 25 May 2026; in the 2025 season, both the north and south beaches were rated suitable throughout the season. The site is best for families, campers, caravan travellers and cyclists. Regular beach entry for non-staying visitors is listed at CZK 70 per person in the 2026 price list. There is no lifeguard or medic listed for the bathing area, so swimming is at your own responsibility.
