Trailpark Bukovka: family trails, Blinduro and a mini bikepark below Buková hora

Trailpark Bukovka in Horský resort Buková hora near Červená Voda is a friendly bike area for families, beginners, hobby riders and anyone who wants to try a more natural trail. It offers a 7.5 km blue trail, the red Blinduro trail, the black Pod lanem trail, a climbing trail, mini bikepark, pumptrack, lift with bike attachment, rental and service.

Trailpark Bukovka is the younger, more playful and more family-oriented relative of the big trail areas in BikeRegion Králický Sněžník. It lies in Horský resort Buková hora near Červená Voda, in the Mlýnický Dvůr area, on the edge of the Orlické Mountains and the Králický Sněžník massif. And it has one very pleasant quality: you do not need to be an enduro hero in full body armour to enjoy riding here.

Bukovka is built around a combination of lift access, a family blue trail, the more natural red Blinduro, the technical black Pod lanem trail, a climbing route and a mini bikepark with a pumptrack. It is not as large as Dolní Morava and not as enduro-heavy as Kraličák, but that is exactly why it makes sense: it is clear, readable and very natural for families or mildly advanced riders.

Why go

The main reason is progression. At Bukovka you can start in the mini bikepark, ride the pumptrack, try green and blue features and then move on to the main blue trail. It is 7.5 km long and the official website describes it as an easy and safe route for families with children and hobby bikers, with rollers and berms.

Once you are confident, the red Blinduro trail comes next. It is 2.5 km long, more natural, unsurfaced and uses roots, rocks and other terrain features. Above that is the black Pod lanem trail, 2.1 km long, a more technical option for advanced riders. And if you do not want to ride up only by lift, there is a 6.3 km climbing trail with a mild gradient, forest roads and two-way traffic.

Trails and difficulty

The blue trail is Bukovka’s main face. It is 7.5 km long, runs down into Červená Voda and is built as an accessible flow ride for families, beginners and hobby riders. Expect berms, rollers, faster sections and an overall route designed to teach trail joy rather than punish every mistake.

The red Blinduro trail has a different character. It is 2.5 km long and intended for more experienced bikers. It is not as smooth as the blue flow trail; it works more with a natural surface. Roots, stones and irregularities are not a maintenance error here, but the point of the route. In dry weather it is fun; after rain it becomes a much stronger lesson in humility.

The black Pod lanem trail is 2.1 km long and the official website describes it as technically demanding, with features for advanced riders. It is not the best place for your first day on a trail bike. It calls for confident braking, body position, the ability to read a line and a good bike.

The climbing trail is 6.3 km long and combines forest roads with gentle climbing and lightly bermed turns. Important note: traffic runs both ways. That means head up, not racing tunnel vision. Meeting someone in a turn is pleasant only if both riders still have time to smile, not brake with their eyes.

Mini bikepark and pumptrack

Mini Bikepark Bukovka is a major advantage for families and people who want to learn the basics without the pressure of a large hill. The official website lists three cycling trails and a pumptrack. Beginners can try the green and blue trails, while more advanced riders can work on the red air line.

Mini blue offers more gradient, higher speed, longer berms and quicker terrain changes. Mini red is aimed at jumps, pumping, technical sections and safely built features, including tables, rollers and a sharkfin. The pumptrack is 120 m long and offers berms, rollers and jumps. For children it is a great playground; for adults, a subtle reminder that physics has no sense of humour.

Lift, bikepass and operation

In the summer season, the resort carries cyclists by lift using safe bike attachment. That is Bukovka’s main comfort: climbing can be replaced by the lift, letting you focus on descents, technique and repeating trails.

The summer 2026 price list states a full-day bikepass for adults at CZK 650 at the ticket office or CZK 590 in the e-shop. Children under 12 have a full-day bikepass for CZK 470 at the ticket office or CZK 420 in the e-shop, children under 6 for CZK 220/200, and children under 3 are free. Four-hour, afternoon, two-day, five-day and season options are also available.

Opening times vary by season. For 2026, the website lists May and June weekend-only operation, with lifts 9:30–17:00. In July and August, lifts run daily 9:30–17:00. In September and October, operation is again weekends only and lifts run 9:30–16:00. Always check current operation before travelling, because wind, rain, events or maintenance can be quite creative with plans.

Rental and equipment

Bukovka rental offers 2026 bike models including Kellys Throx 10, Rock Machine Blizzard 70 and Rock Machine e-bikes. Protective equipment is available too: elbow and knee pads, chest and back protector, XC helmet and full-face helmet.

The summer 2026 price list gives enduro bikes at CZK 1,590 per day, full-suspension bikes at CZK 1,390 per day, e-bikes at CZK 1,490 per day and children’s bikes at CZK 450 per day. Bikes require a refundable deposit of CZK 5,000 and an ID document for the rental contract. A full-face helmet costs CZK 200, an XC helmet CZK 100, knee or elbow pads CZK 150 and a chest/back protector CZK 200.

For the blue trail, a good mountain or trail bike, helmet and basic technique are enough. For red Blinduro and black Pod lanem, I would recommend a trail or enduro bike, good brakes, gloves, knee pads and a full-face helmet for faster riders.

Who Bukovka suits

Bukovka best suits families with children, beginners, mildly advanced bikers and riders who want a compact area with a lift, rental and gradual progression. It is ideal as a first lift-served trailpark or a calmer alternative to larger bike areas.

It also works well for groups with mixed ability. Children and beginners can stay in the mini bikepark and on the blue trail, while more experienced riders try Blinduro or the black trail. Everyone then meets again at the bottom by the lift, which is much simpler than looking for someone across three valleys and two wrong turns.

What to watch out for

Pay most attention to current operation and trail condition. The official Trailpark Bukovka page points to current information via Instagram and Facebook, so before travelling check not only opening hours but also closures or restrictions. After rain, the red Blinduro and black Pod lanem can become significantly harder than in dry weather.

On the climbing trail, remember two-way traffic. Ride with margin, keep right, do not assume the world belongs only to you in corners, and with children repeat the rules more often than everyone enjoys. It works better than later explaining why the trip turned into a first-aid course.

Summary

Trailpark Bukovka is a very good family and hobby trailpark in Horský resort Buková hora. It offers a 7.5 km blue trail, a more natural red Blinduro trail, the technical black Pod lanem trail, a 6.3 km climbing trail, mini bikepark, pumptrack, lift, rental and service. Bukovka’s biggest strength is progression: you can start simply, add technique and still stay in a compact area. If you want a clear bike day with family or a first step towards more technical trails, Bukovka is a very good choice.
